Meet Ashley…

On a normal day, she lives and works in rural Mississippi on her family farm — providing lots of enrichment and entertainment for her furry friends.

However, her passion lies in the proving, protection and perfection of purebred dogs. Ashley is dedicated to making sure that each and every little life she helps bring into the world is of sound mind, body and soul!

Ashley has been a dog lover since before she could talk or walk. Her passion is contagious as she strikes up conversation with any and all who will listen about the world of dog showing, sporting and breeding.

She began getting heavily involved in dog showing and training her junior year of college. During the week she juggled working a 9-5 with being a full-time student, and on the weekends dedicated every moment to her dogs.

That hard work paid off, and in 2022 Ashley graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a bachelors in Strategic Communications. She currently works from home as a Community and Program Manager and fulfills the role of receptionist at a local reproductive veterinary hospital part time.

Ashley with Aoiffie, the borrowed chihuahua

She first started learning about dog shows in 2021 after running into a chihuahua breeder and exhibitor in a local pet store. A few weeks later and Ashley took her first steps into the ring with a borrowed dog (pictured left), no experience and a whole lot of determination to succeed. She was hooked from there!

After that Ashley spent almost all of her free time learning about the ethics around dog breeding, attending local classes and competitions and building relationships with her local dog community. She became an active member of local sports clubs and acquired her first show dogs. Her love of the chihuahua breed, and plans for her breeding program, slowly began to grow as she became more involved.

Ashley then left Louisiana to take up residence on the family farm. This move allowed her to establish a home base for Walley Farms Chihuahuas, and start putting into motion her many plans and dreams. Ashley is a member of The Chihuahua Club of America, The Greater Hattiesburg Kennel Club, and The Meri-Miss Kennel Club. She has big hopes to grow the dog community in her new area!
